Poker pro Beth Shak was featured on NBC’s Today Show this morning and the focus wasn’t about her poker skills, but about her shoes. Shak’s 1,200 pairs of designer shoes also led to her being featured in the upcoming documentary, God Save My Shoes.
Shak’s shoe collection, which fluctuates as she acquires more and gives some away, didn’t come cheap especially since 700 of her shoes bear the pricey Christian Louboutin label. During the 2010 World Series of Poker, tournament staff released plans to rebuild the struggling WSOP Circuit. With added stops, new televised Regional Championship events and the 100-player National Championship, it appeared that the WSOPC was headed in the right direction. For the most part, the 2010-11 season of the WSOP was a success, with a record-setting 49,453 tournament entries during 15 tour stops. Lowering the buy-in for the main events was one of the best decisions made a year ago, but with the larger events still struggling to attract large fields, some additional enhancements have been made for the 2011-12 season.
The new 16-stop WSOPC season will begin on Sept.

U.K-based online gamingpany 888 Holdings is looking into applying for an online poker license in Nevada, according to a report on Bloomberg. In the process, they are also discussing a partnership with Caesars Entertainment Corp, parentpany of Harrahs, Caesars, Rio, Flamingo, and the World Series of Poker, amongst other assets.
888 Holdings Deputy Chairman Brian Mattingley told Bloomberg that hispany is in advanced talks with Caesars and would make a decision about applying for an internet poker license by mid-autumn. We would love to do it with them, he said.
