Struggletown
On-line Gambling News October 29th. 2011, 8:30amPunishing day. Only played about 15 tournies but busted out of most. No huge errors. Lots of losing AK < A9 for 15BB type hands. Ran deepest in the same three tournies as always Big $11 for 400ish. $27.5 and $22 big antes. I like these tournaments, they seem to suit my style of play in terms of blinds and ante structure.
Busted the Big $11 with raise AQ with 25BB UTG, flop AsTs2s, called a shortie pot sized flop shove and he showed ATo. Then shippped JTs on button for last 12BB. Managed to get lucky versus limpers twice so I can’t complain. Shipped 12BB with QJs over limp of 77 and also AJo over limp of KK. Is limping the new 2x Raise?
I’m starting to get quite intolerant of limping and also getting aggressive with 15-20BB and hands like AJ AT 55. Previously I was a little more cautious but I’m getting alot of credit so I quite like shipping these hands preflop in the right spots. I am also starting to not let myself get to 10BB as much as previous. I was content playing tighter with a 12-15BB stack and letting myself get to 8BB or 10BB with a solid hand. These days however, I don’t feel it’s correct. The main problem is a double up with 8-10BB gives you 15-20BB with increasing blinds this is maybe 12-16BB. Not a very playable stack. But a double up with 15-20BB stack, even if you’re getting slightly worse of it, becomes a much more playable and active stack size of 30+BB letting you be more aggressive and chip up. I don’t know. Everyone probably already knows this but the concept seems to be cementing itself more every day.
