We’re animal lovers here on the PokerStars Blog. Dogs and cats share our homes. We like birds, horses and, after meeting them at EPT Snowfest, mountain goats. What’s more, we’ve tended to sick animals, and who knows what creatures enjoyed residence in blogger Stephen Bartley’s moustache when he turned up at Barcelona last year with facial hair? With that heart-warming image of us in mind, it might seem odd for me to be advocating the killing of a monkey.
This particular chimp is pesky. It turns up at every European Poker Tour event and laughs at us. Not even Bartley’s facial hair scared it away.

He’ll be one of the youngest players at next week’s World Series of Poker Main Event final table, and the first German to make it that far. Now Pius Heinz, 22, has the full support of the PokerStars family; he has joined Team PokerStars Pro.
Heinz, who studied business psychology at university, admits he was more interested in history at school than maths. But he’ll need all his numeric skills to work out what to do with the $8,711,956 if he becomes world champion next week.
“I’m pretty relaxed about the game,” he said. “There are a lot of tough players left but I’m confident I can win it.

Punishing day. Only played about 15 tournies but busted out of most. No huge errors. Lots of losing AK < A9 for 15BB type hands. Ran deepest in the same three tournies as always Big $11 for 400ish. $27.5 and $22 big antes. I like these tournaments, they seem to suit my style of play in terms of blinds and ante structure.
Busted the Big $11 with raise AQ with 25BB UTG, flop AsTs2s, called a shortie pot sized flop shove and he showed ATo. Then shippped JTs on button for last 12BB. Managed to get lucky versus limpers twice so I can’t complain. Shipped 12BB with QJs over limp of 77 and also AJo over limp of KK. I
